Porto’s Bakery has announced its newest location, their first in the Inland Empire.
Tuesday morning, the popular bakery revealed they will begin construction on their newest store in Ontario, set to open in 2028.
“Ontario felt like the right fit because it brings us closer to guests throughout the Inland Empire while giving us the opportunity to be part of a development designed around dining and gathering,” said Raul Porto, CEO and Owner of Porto’s Bakery. “We’ve also appreciated the City’s enthusiasm for bringing Porto’s Bakery here and are grateful for the partnership that has helped make this possible.”
Founded in 1960 by Rosa Porto, the family-owned bakery is famous for their Cuban pastries like their guava and cheese strudels, potato balls as well as coffee and savory food items.
“For our family, this is a meaningful moment,” said Beatriz “Betty” Porto, Owner and Vice President of Community Affairs at Porto’s Bakery. “For years, we’ve met families from across the Inland Empire who have made the trip to visit our bakeries and shared how much they hoped we would one day be closer to home. We’re grateful for the support we’ve received and excited to become part of Ontario.”
The Ontario bakery is being designed with gathering and hospitality in mind, offering a variety
of indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to dine and spend time together, the bakery announced in a press release on Tuesday.
The location is set to include an atrium and patio, with a menu spanning breakfast through dinner.
“My mom taught us that the menu could continue to evolve without losing the heart of where it came from,” said Margarita “Margaret” Porto, Owner of Porto’s Bakery. “Her recipes are still such an important part of what we do, and we’re equally excited about what we continue to develop. I’m looking forward to sharing both those traditions and what comes next with our guests in the Inland Empire.”
The new location will be located near the Ontario airport on Inland Empire Boulevard and Archibald Avenue.
