Arrest made in South Bay burglary that left salon with $100K in damages

(KRON) -- The Campbell Police Department arrested 46-year-old Daniel Jermain White in connection with a burglary last month at Goddess Hair Bar that left the salon with $100,000 in damages and stolen property.

White is suspected of being one of two men involved in the theft.

Investigators located White using license plate readers and a stolen vehicle. Authorities believe the break-in is part of organized crime and are investigating potential ties to other nearby offenses based on items seized at the suspect's residence.

When officers searched White's possession and residence, they uncovered narcotics alongside items taken from the business. Campbell Police Capt. Ian White detailed the evidence located by investigators.

“Thanks to license plate readers and his stolen car, we were able to track him,” White said. “He was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and packaged hair extensions with the victims hand writing.”

Goddess Hair Bar owner Segen Gedam expressed surprise after learning an arrest had been made, and some items were recovered.

“I am shocked that I got something back and they made an arrest,” Gedam said.

While police returned some merchandise to the salon, the items represent only a small fraction of the total loss. Gedam noted the amount of merchandise returned to her store.

“I got back around $300 worth of stolen property. It's not nearly close to all that was lost, but it's something,” Gedam said.

Campbell police are continuing to search for the second man seen in surveillance video of the burglary.
